Galaxy S4 replacement parts and  Repair Guide

Samsung Galaxy S4 LCD & Touch Screen Digitizer Assembly (Fused Screens)

Anyone will be annoyed if their Samsung Galaxy S4 screen cracked only after a few days they got this new handset. However, complains are of no avail. The remedy is to learn how to repair the broken Galaxy S4 screen and how much to replace the S4 screen.

  • First Steps: • • • For starters, make sure the device is completely powered off. Then remove the back battery cover, along with the battery, sim card, and Micro SD card. Next, using a Small Phillips Screwdriver #00 unscrew the nine  screws circled in red below.
  • Removing the Back Housing: • After the screws have been removed, use a safe open pry tool and wedge between the seam of the back housing. Then run the tool along the sides and edges in order to remove the housing. See Figure Below for Reference:
  • Removing the Motherboard: • With the back housing removed you will have one  Small Phillips screw to remove (circled in red). • Next, release the five popconnections (highlighted in green) and two  antenna cables (circled in orange). • At this point in the repair you can now lift out the motherboard. Be careful not to rip or tear any cables
  • Removing Additional Components: Now with the motherboard removed, there are two more Small Phillips screws to unscrew (circled in red). Following the screw removal, there are four  more components to remove (highlighted in yellow). They include a small black cover (top left), ear speaker (beneath the black cover), the headphone jack (top right), vibrate motor, and metal bracket (near bottom of the device). Also during this step you will release the home button flex cable (highlighted in green). Then there are two  additional antenna cable connections that need to be released (circled in orange). See Figure for Reference:
  • Removing the USB Port Flex Cable: • Using your pry tool, apply pressure beneath the USB Port flex cable, releasing the adhesive, so you can easily lift out the cable. See Figures Below for Reference:
  • Loosening Adhesive: • After all the internal components have been removed the next step will be removing the screen assembly. • In order to do so the adhesive holding the assembly to the frame must by loosened. • To loosen the adhesive use a blow dryer (on medium heat), or a heat gun (on low heat) and heat the front and back of the device for about 40 – 50 seconds. Use quick movements to avoid overheating the device. See Figure for Reference:
  • Removing the Screen Assembly: • With the adhesive loosened, use your pry tool to wedge between the seam of the touch screen and the front housing. Then shim the tool along the sides and edges in order to separate the screen and housing. • During this process you will want to switch to a Nylon Spudger (your other pry tool), which will allow you to reach further behind the screen to release more adhesive. See Figures Below for Reference:
  • Final Steps: • Continue to work your way around the sides and edges releasing adhesive. • With most of the adhesive released, there are two cables to be fed through the housing. The first is a screen assembly flex cable (figure on the left). • Lastly, feed the home button flex cable through the slot in the housing also. See Figures Below for Reference:
  • Success! • Your Samsung Galaxy S4 has now been fully disassembled!
